1. Kitten Health & Care

Every kitten comes with:

• Age-appropriate vaccinations: Core vaccines administered by a licensed veterinarian with an official immunization record/passport.

• Microchip Identification: Pre-chipped for lifelong security and registration.

• Spay/neuter: Completed prior to rehoming as a pet(unless specific breeding rights have been agreed upon in writing).

• Preventative treatments: Up-to-date internal deworming and parasite prevention.

• Veterinary Health Exam: Thorough physical examination and official health certificate issued by a licensed vet prior to handover.

• Genetic Health Foundation: Parents screened clear (N/N) for core genetic conditions affecting the breed, including HCM (ECG), SMA, PkDef and HD X-Rays.

• Litter & scratch post training: Fully trained on litter boxes and scratch posts before leaving for their new homes.

• Pedigree Registration: Kittens born in my cattery are TICA registered. Kittens from our partner cattery are WCF registered.

• Early socialization & care: Raised in a loving home environment, handled daily and acclimated to typical household sounds and family life.

• Nutrition: Raised on high-quality nutrition to support strong muscle and bone development, with feeding guidelines provided for a smooth transition.

2. Health guarantee & Medical Terms

• 72-Hour Health Exam: The buyer agrees to have the kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of pickup or delivery. If any underlying, life-threatening health issues are diagnosed by the veterinarian during this period, the buyer must notify us within 24 hours with official veterinary documentation for a replacement kitten resolution.

• Genetic Health Guarantee: We provide a 1 year genetic health guarantee against fatal congenital or hereditary defects affecting core breed markers (HCM, SMA, PKDef).

• Replacement Policy: In the rare event a licensed vet diagnoses a fatal congenital defect within the guarantee period, a replacement kitten of equal value will be provided from an upcoming available litter upon receipt of complete medical records and diagnostic proof.

• Medical Expenses: All veterinary bills, testing, treatments, and ongoing care expenses incurred after the kitten is handed over to the buyer are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

• Stress-Related Conditions & Minor Ailments: Minor stress-induced symptoms (such as mild upper respiratory signs or temporary loose stool) resulting from travel, environmental changes, or diet transition after rehoming are not considered genetic defects and are not covered under the health guarantee.

3. Reservation, Deposit & Payment Terms

• Reserving a Kitten: A deposit is required to reserve a specific kitten or secure a place on our waitlist.

• Non-Refundable Deposit: All deposits are strictly non-refundable, as reserving a kitten takes them off the market and reserves care resources specifically for your kitten.

• Deposit Transferability: If you are unable to take your chosen kitten due to unexpected personal circumstances, your deposit may be transferred once toward a future available litter.

‍ ‍Payment schedule:

• Local kittens (Canada): The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to or at the time of pick up/delivery.

• International Kittens (Partner Cattery): The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to the finalization of international flight bookings and transport arrangements.

• Accepted payment methods: Payments can be made via Interac E-Transfer, Wise (Credit Card, ACH), cash.

• Forfeiture: If the remaining balance is not paid by the agreed pick up/delivery date, or if the buyer ceases communication, the reservation will be canceled and the deposit will be forfeited.

4. Pick up, Delivery & Transport

Kittens born in Canada (local litters):

• Local Home Pickup: Buyers are welcome to pick up their kitten in person at our home/cattery in Holland Landing, Ontario, by appointment on the scheduled rehoming date.

• Local Delivery: We offer personal delivery within up to 1-hour drive from Holland Landing.

• Extended Delivery: Delivery to further locations in Ontario, other provinces, or US states can be arranged via a professional pet courier at an additional cost.

  Kittens from Partner Cattery (Russia):

• Included Delivery Locations: The listed purchase price includes international transit and delivery to Toronto (GTA) or New York.

• Other Locations: Delivery to all other provinces, states, or regions outside Toronto/GTA or New York is available for an additional cost.

• Travel Delays & Third-Party Carriers: While we carefully coordinate all international and domestic transit for a smooth journey, we are not liable for delays, flight reschedules, or weather holds caused by airlines or third-party pet couriers.

• Receiving Your Kitten: The buyer agrees to be present and available to receive or pick up the kitten at the scheduled time and location. If a buyer fails to pick up or receive the kitten on the scheduled date without prior notice, additional boarding or rescheduling fees may apply.

5. Buyer Responsibilities & Care Agreement

• Indoor-Only Home: The buyer agrees that the kitten will live strictly indoors as a domestic companion. (Outdoor time in secured enclosures/catios or on a harness under direct supervision is permitted.)

• No Declawing Policy: Declawing is strictly prohibited. Declawing is a surgical procedure that alters the cat's anatomy and can cause permanent physical and behavioral issues.

• Right of First Refusal & Non-Surrender: Under no circumstances may the kitten be surrendered to a shelter, rescue organization, laboratory, or pet store, nor resold to an unauthorized third party. If you are ever unable to keep the cat at any point during its life, you agree to contact us directly so we can assist in rehoming or taking the cat back.

• Standard Lifetime Care: The buyer agrees to provide proper nutrition, a safe home environment, regular exercise and affection, and ongoing routine veterinary care (including annual checkups and required booster vaccinations).

By placing a deposit or purchasing a kitten from Blackstone Maine Coons, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions outlined above.
